Microsoft is promising to protect their Linux partners from lawsuits, and many people think that makes those particular distributions more worthy of being used. But Matt Asay has written a wonderful article on his cnet blog about the real value of Microsoft’s promise not to sue, or rather the threat of a suit against Linux distributions that haven’t signed agreements with the boys from Redmond. Without realizing it, the theme I originally selected doesn’t show who wrote the posts here. While I have written all of the posts so far, I’m talking to my brother Peng about writing some posts, which is one more reason I need to identify each post’s author.
To show the post’s author I have had to change the theme. I selected the Andreas04 by Andreas Viklund, but I may change it one more time because I’m not completely happy with the color scheme that’s being used now, but I’ll make sure that the theme I select not only shows who wrote each post but also allows for what Peng calls a “fluid” design. This simply means that the site uses the entire width of the browser window rather than centering the site with a lot of space on either side of the content. Small Update: I did make one more change in the theme, going with Andreas Viklund’s Andreas09 theme so I could go back to the green color scheme I originally had. Read the rest of this entry »
