Congrats to the Massachusetts Ubuntu LoCo Team!

Posted by Nanci Barthelmess on 10 October 2007

My brother asked me to pass along worth that the Massachusetts Ubuntu Local Community (LoCo) team got approved as an official Ubuntu LoCo team. Congrats, y’all!

The team has some great events coming up, like an InstallFest this coming Saturday and a Gutsy Release Party next week. For those who don’t know what an InstallFest is, it’s a little event where we help people get Ubuntu installed on their computers, plus give great information on why people may want to use Ubuntu. It’s a week before the official release so they’ll be installing Ubuntu 7.04, Feisty Fawn, but they’ll also be installing Ubuntu 7.10, Gutsy Gibbon, for those who want it. They’ll have a bunch of Live CDs available for people who don’t want to bring their own computers to MIT for the event, and I’m hearing there will be some other cool giveaways

I probably won’t be at the InstallFest due to other commitments, but my brother, Peng (DJ_Peng on the Ubuntu Forums), is planning to make it for at least part of the time.

For more details on the InstallFest and release party, and for more information on the Mass. LoCo Team, visit their Wiki Page.
