[UPDATED] Ubuntu creates an even better resource for info for newbies and old hands alike

Posted by BostonPeng on 13 November 2007

[Update 29 December: Silly Peng forgot to include a link to the site. I've added it for him. - Nanci]
[Updated 5 June: And I didn'trealize I didn't use the correct link to the Uboontu search site. It's finally fixed now. I apologize formy oversight. -Peng]

When you want to find out how to do something in Ubuntu you can search the forums, documentation, and other sources either by looking for them on your own or by using search engines such as Uboontu and Ubuntu Search from Ubuntux. But now you can start in the newly updated Ubuntu Document Storage Facility.

Rather than having to enter what you’re looking for in the search box, you just pick the area that you’re needing info on (Application Finder, UbuntuGuide dot org, Desktop Interface, Hardware Factor, Multimedia, Network Magic, Office, and more) and go from there.

I’ve only looked at it a little, but I’ve already added a bookmark for it and moved it to the top of my Ubuntu bookmarks. You will want to bookmark it yourself once you check it out.

Yooouge thanks to Kristian Erik Hermansen on the Massachusetts Ubuntu LoCo Team for letting me know about this resource.
