Google’s done it again

Posted by Nanci Barthelmess on 28 January 2008

A while back I heard about StreetView coming to Google Maps but hadn’t gotten a chance to try it out yet. I just did, and I think Google’s hit another one out of the park.

My roomie has to go to the doctor’s office in the morning, but they need to go to a different doctor than they usually go to so they punched the addy into Google Maps to find out where it is. There was a option new button labeled StreetView at the top right of the map so they clicked it. OMG! This is an incredible way to find out where you’re going because it literally puts you at street level and if you have Google Maps give you directions it will let you see your entire route at street level, allowing you to see what landmarks you should see and where.

It’s not available for all cities, and I’m not sure when they added Boston, but you should definitely keep your eyes open for it showing up on your local maps. If it’s not available in your area (or it is andyou want to know more about StreetView) you can check out this demo video.
