On Tuesday I posted that Linden Labs has released a test version of their new Dazzle UI upgrade. I also included a schedule for rolling restarts to push some new code out to all the servers, but in what is becoming more frequent lately they found some serious problems in the code only after they started pushing out the updates. As a result the rolling restarts scheduled to end today have been rescheduled to Friday and Monday.
Now we are told to expect rolling restarts tomorrow (Friday) and Monday, 22 and 25 February. The new tentative schedule, and the changed original schedule (included for reference purposes), is

Of course we all know how much trouble SecondLife can be in for doing rolling restarts and upgrades on a Friday. While I’m not saying this is how it will be this weekend, in the past the weekend following rolling restarts and new software releases have featured massive lags, broken TPs, missing inventory and inventory taking forever to load, and major problems with the Friends list and IM’s in general. There’s no new software hitting tomorrow (or so we’ve been told, thank the Goddess), but this user won’t be one bit surprised if things are so bad on SecondLife that when she does get on she probably won’t stay on that long.
