SecondLife does it again. There’s yet another Release Candidate available
Posted by Nanci Barthelmess on 22 February 2008
Ignoring their history of problems following software releases on Fridays, LindenLabs released RC3 of the SecondLife 1.19.0 this evening.
Eight bugs are listed as being fixed for this Release Candidate, although some big buggies are still present, like crashes when you cross a region, but if you’re willing to risk using a not-yet released version you can go to the test software page and grab it for yourself. Of course thi is test software and shouldn’t be used by anyone not comfortable with non-released software. This version can contain bugs that couldĀ major problems for anyone who uses it.
Also, I’m finding that the test software page is having problems loading tonight. I’m sure it’s just a indication of how many people want to use this new RC, but it could be a taste of what awaits us this weekend. But if you’ve used the previous RC you will find that you need this newer RC to log into SL unless you use the regular client or one of the First Look clients.

Wow! You made the first page of comments on the SL blog! Woot! There are so many options to run SL now it’s getting a little silly – not to mention cluttering up my desktop. But now that I have a spanking new desktop (complete with nvidia 8500 graphics card – thank you tax return!) I can’t wait to play with all the options – Windlight, Dazzle, or maybe – fixed bugs! How’s a girl to choose?

I know what you mean. If I were you I’d check out the Release Candidate (there’s a new one I need to blog) to see the latest bugfixes, and I’d grab Windlight just so you can play around with all the pretty sky and water settings.
