Firefox 3 Beta 4 is here!

Posted by Peng on 10 March 2008

I just learned that about an hour ago Mozilla officially released Firefox 3 Beta 4, after a weekend of false reports.

Some of the big improvements in Beta 4 are  the return of text zooming without the Zoomer extension (I still prefer how Zoomer does it for some reason), improvements in the default theme for Windows, OSX and Linux, improvements to the Aewsome Bar and even greater performance increases than in Beta 3. You can get more info on what’s been added and improved in Beta 4 from the What’s New section of the Firefox 3 Beta 4 Release Notes.

I forgot to mention this when I first wrote it, but the Home button will only get moved to the Bookmarks Toolbar if it’s already open as of this beta.

The new beta is available in over 35 different languages for Linux, OSX and  Windows (XP and Vista), but as always with beta software it is not intended for general use. This is a testing release and should only be used by those wanting to help make Firefox 3 better by looking for bugs, participation in the Firefox Builds section of the Mozillazine Forums (or at least reading the threads there on a regular basis) and by making sure bug reports are posted when you find one. Just don’t forget to search before creating a new thread or bug report.
