A quartet of Ubuntu links
Posted by Peng on 30 April 2008
In the spirit of Nick Ali and Jeff Waugh’s daily Planet Ubuntu posts of links they’ve discovered in their surfing, I just went through my RSS feeds for the morning and have four links that I simply have to pass along.
- Jonathan Carter: I love my Mac! - He needed a new machine to do video editing and got a Mac, but he hates OSX so he put Ubuntu on it. Needless to say it works like a charm.
- Matthew Helmke: Another reason to love Linux - I’ve posted a number of links to Matthew’s posts because he has so much great info he passes along. But today he posts a picture that is truly worth a thousand words.
- Matthew Helmke: Some users are expressing disappointment with Ubuntu 8.04 - Hardy Heron - Some people are unhappy with Ubuntu Hardy because of issues they’re experiencing, but Matthew has a disappointed user that will surprise you because they claim Hardy’s too easy to set up. And he should know because he had to do it on enough computers. I’m linking to Matthew’s post about it so you can see what Matthew has to say before you follow his link.
- DesktopLinux.com: A “hardy” Linux distro goes to work - A great review of Kubuntu 8.04 (with KDE) by someone who blew away Kubuntu 7.10 and did a fresh install, keeping only his personal data and preference settings.
