Peng’s posts for Sunday, 27 July
Posted by Peng on 27 July 2008
I ended up missing a thing or two I meant to post yesterday because when I first saw them I hadn’t flagged them as To Blog. Luckily I found a few things I wanted to blog this morning so this isn’t just a “catch up” post.
- Dave Morley: Doing and Saying for Non-Developers. I like supporting software that I really like (like Mac4Lin) , but since I can’t code I wondered how I could best contribute other than helping in the support forum thread. Dave has some ideas for others looking for ways that non-devs can support your favorite software.
- Tom Dryer: Upgrade to the Latest Compiz Fusion Release. Earlier this month I mentioned the new desktop sphere in Compiz Fusion. If you don’t want to use Ubuntu Tweak to update Compiz Fusion (I understand you may not) Tom has a killer post on his already great Tombuntu site showing you how you, too, can play with the desktop cylinder and sphere. Have you bookmarked his site or subscribed to his RSS feed yet? You haven’t? What’s taking you so long? :p
- Siegfried Gevatter: Writing a command and control application with voice command. Let’s admit it. Most of us Trek fans have long waited for the day that we can control our computers with our voice. It looks like that day may be today.
I do have one other thing to post, but since it’s not a tech/Ubuntu post I’ll give it a post of it’s own so it doesn’t go to Planet Ubuntu Users.
