I'll apt-get what I need. Gimp never appealed to me, and I don't think it should be on a default install. I don't believe anything should that doesn't have any obvious value when you first open it up. That is, you should be able to immediately *do stuff* with it. I remember the first (and I think last) time I opened F-Spot. I couldn't believe the disk thrashing! I think it's also too confusing for a default photo app. gThumb is much more in line, and it has some powerful tools in its menus. I just wish the cropping was in-place rather than in a separate dialog. Crop, then Apply?
