Is the version of the docs in my Dropbox the current version? If so I can add that myself. I'll also drop a link to this post in the Mac4Lin support thread to let people know we found the update info if you haven't done it already.

I have to say I care more about what they put in, than what they leave out of a default install. I'll apt-get what I need.

Gimp never appealed to me, and I don't think it should be on a default install. I don't believe anything should that doesn't have any obvious value when you first open it up. That is, you should be able to immediately *do stuff* with it.

I remember the first (and I think last) time I opened F-Spot. I couldn't believe the disk thrashing! I think it's also too confusing for a default photo app.

gThumb is much more in line, and it has some powerful tools in its menus. I just wish the cropping was in-place rather than in a separate dialog. Crop, then Apply? Should just be one crop button, or better yet select a cropping cursor first and draw a rectangle right on the pic. Irfanview got it right from the start.

Thanks for the link, Pat. I'll have to see if I can chase down UGeek's source if that's not it. Just from reading the article you linked to I'm not clear if that was their source. I'm just getting to my comp this morning so I have some things to do before I go hunting.

Ubuntu Geek is not something to give as an example, all his articles are from other websites and most of the times he doesn't even know what those things do.
