The latest round of Release Candidates for the SecondLife viewer have been including the Dazzle “skin”, and yesterday they rolled out Release Candidate Viewer 1.20 RC5. Along with all of the other complaints about the new series of RC, including why haven’t they fixed the invisible skirt issue, one issue seems to be almost unanimously hated: The Dazzle skin is fugly! At the tail end of February SecondLife released it’s version 1.19.0.x clients as an optional release. But as if tomorrow it will be required. Updated 6:55 PM EDT Wed 12 Mar: They’ve decided to postpone the requirement of the 1.19.0 client until the 1.19.1 version comes out in 2-3 weeks. Back in November I wrote about the technology preview that came out of Linden Lab’s Dazzle project. Today Torley Linden announced that Dazzle was back, but this time in a First Look client. Color me a lovely WindLight-esque shade of Tickled Pink. Not.
They also have some server updates and rolling restarts coming, but it’s not for the current Release Candidate.
